Overview
This role supports the Debt Capital Markets function by underwriting and analyzing a buy-side debt portfolio. Working with the Debt Capital Markets Leader, the Senior Portfolio Analyst collaborates with stakeholders and, when needed, operates independently across credit analysis, monitoring, credit administration, and loan documentation.

Responsibilities
- Develop credit information for use by Relationship Managers (RMs) and/or committees in lending decisions for new loans, renewal loans, miscellaneous loan servicing actions, and restructuring actions; co-sponsor credit recommendations with RMs.
- Review relevant credit and financial information; determine when additional investigation or information is required.
- Analyze financial statements, forecasts, and related materials; prepare summaries, present facts, and provide opinions regarding eligibility, return, credit structure, and overall creditworthiness.
- Prepare complete credit packages for loan committee review and decisioning, with sufficient lead time.
- Perform credit administration and account servicing related to Salesforce and nCino data quality and integrity.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and financial review for assigned portfolio; keep RMs informed of financial trends and compliance.
- Review credit agreements and other loan and participation documents to ensure alignment with approved credit actions.
- Provide timely responses to internal or external account requests.
- Maintain strong working relationships among deal teams and cross-functional departments.
- Maintain expertise in assigned market segments by keeping abreast of industry trends.
- Participate in training and development of other Association staff and review the work of others as assigned.
- Attend lender meetings and industry events as necessary.
- Assist with other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a desk and computer for extended periods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and work effectively with a team.
- Ability to talk and hear, sit and use hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential.
- Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required.
- Work during established business hours; occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
- Travel required.
- Full-time remote role: job functions can be performed remotely while maintaining commitment to customer service and business goals. Employees may come to an office if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.
Typical Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (finance, business, or related field preferred).
- Familiarity with accounting principles and banking policies, procedures, and processes.
- 7 years of prior experience in credit/financial analysis work.
- Demonstrated skills in cash flow, balance sheet, profitability, liquidity, and solvency analysis.
- General knowledge of agriculture and/or agribusiness preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various formats.
- Working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet and analytical software.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations, association and district policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and strong persuasive and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient use of PC tools, including word processing, email, and electronic spreadsheet software.
Levels of Supervision
- Generally exercises no supervision.
- Makes independent decisions and works under the general direction of the Debt Capital Markets Leader.
- May mentor or train other staff.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range (Annual):

Minimum: $98,644.40

Maximum: $171,887.88

The range reflects the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level; it will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate.

Location
Full-time remote. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.
