Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Technical Revenue Accountant to join their team remotely within the USA. This role focuses on revenue recognition across multiple workstreams including Cloud, On-premise, Term License, Maintenance, and Professional Services. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, particularly related to ASC 606, and involves collaboration with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, and Legal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all revenue is accounted for in accordance with company policies and ASC 606 accounting guidelines.
  • Review completeness and accuracy of data in the revenue system (RevPro).
  • Process contract updates, revenue adjustments, and journal entries in the revenue system.
  • Operate and oversee revenue-related internal controls.
  • Prepare deal reviews and checklists to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
  • Provide ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance to Legal, Deal Desk, Finance, and Order Management teams.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and assessments for complex transactions.
  • Assist in updating ASC 606 policies and conducting training sessions.
  • Support revenue projects including design, testing, and implementation of system updates.
  • Maintain financial and control records with supporting documentation for audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects such as new product assessments, acquisitions, and internal revenue needs.
  • Review customer orders for compliance with revenue recognition policies.
  • Approve orders against company policy and advise sales on inconsistencies and recommended actions.
  • Collaborate closely with Order Management, Collections, Deal Desk, and Finance to meet business objectives.
  • Review sales opportunities, contracts, and non-standard transactions to provide accounting guidance and propose compliant solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Revenue Recognition under ASC 606.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent; Part Qualified Accountant (ICAI, CCAB, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience with software clients or industries involving revenue recognition.
  • Ability to interact effectively with sales, product teams, peers, subordinates, auditors, and legal counsel.
  • Strong independent work ethic with ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical problem solver with practical, common-sense solutions orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CLM, Salesforce, RevPro, and Workday.
  • Prior experience in a SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT and other AI tools.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $79,100.00 - $139,100.00, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
