Overview
The organization is seeking a Senior Director Analyst specializing in AI and Finance Technology Investigations. This role involves producing influential insights, market predictions, and best practices for finance leaders, including CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, and Finance Transformation teams. The successful candidate will leverage deep expertise in AI applications within finance functions to advise clients on AI strategy, implementation, governance, and technology landscape.
Responsibilities
- Develop unique, defensible, and highly consumable business and technology insights addressing AI priorities and opportunities for finance leaders.
- Serve as a leading authority on finance AI topics, including AI's impact on finance functions, pilot setup and scaling, governance, vendor landscape, and AI use cases involving traditional, generative, and agentic AI techniques.
- Connect AI initiatives to finance process automation and broader finance transformation efforts.
- Monitor and analyze external AI trends relevant to finance audiences, producing innovative and thought-provoking insights.
- Provide in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client challenges and reframe thinking to advance strategy.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by establishing insight positions and evolving research agendas.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends to provide actionable insights to clients and vendors.
- Deliver high-value presentations at Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- Support sales and business teams by serving as the market voice to drive client engagement and business growth.
- Conduct peer reviews of content to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Build credibility as an industry expert representing research methodology and strategy.
- Participate actively in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating with peers.
- Identify and implement research process improvements.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric approach, encouraging regular engagement with Gartner insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10-12+ years of relevant experience in finance function and technology topics, including at least 2 years focused on AI for finance.
- Extensive exposure to major finance processes, workflows, data sources, and technologies.
- Experience deploying AI functionality in embedded tools and developing custom AI solutions.
- Familiarity with data science, quantitative analytics, statistics, probabilistic decision-making, and coding languages (preferably Python); backgrounds in math, statistics, or physics are advantageous.
- Executive presence with the ability to establish credibility with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data, apply frameworks, and defend conclusions effectively.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Subject matter expertise with experience presenting at both large and small-scale events.
- Solid business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the finance AI domain.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and adeptness at navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% where applicable.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $172,000 - $202,500 USD. Actual salary may vary based on education, experience, performance, business need, and location.
