Overview
This is an individual contributor role, based remotely in North America.
The organization’s analysts are industry thought leaders who create insights, market predictions, and best practices for a wide range of global organizations. This Senior Director role serves as a leader within the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, building credibility within a designated market at local, regional, and global levels.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, highly leveraged “must-have insights” content
- Develop new insights and thought leadership, and provide compelling, actionable approaches aligned to client needs and requests
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers or overall needs, and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward
- Establish and demonstrate thought leadership positions across a team of analysts
- Provide independent, provocative insights to senior leaders that can influence and evolve a research agenda
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to deliver actionable insights to clients and vendors
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice within the designated content area through virtual and face-to-face interactions
- Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for events, industry/professional association conferences, and client briefings
- Support BTI and Sales by acting as a voice of the market—helping Insights teams create content and engage clients to progress on critical priorities
- Perform high-quality, timely peer review of content
- Build and maintain credibility as an industry expert representing insights, methodology, and strategy
- Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions; collaborate effectively with peers in the Insights community
- Identify research process improvements and/or develop new processes to improve service delivery
- Mentor and coach more junior team members
- Stay client-centric by helping clients engage regularly with insights and interactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred
- 12+ years’ experience working in a finance function, ideally with 2+ years of recent AI experience
- Career exposure in strategic finance or special projects with the CFO, spanning finance processes and workflows, data sources, and technologies
- Provocative, forward-looking perspectives for CFOs on how AI and emerging technology trends are (or will) reshape finance functions and the finance function’s future role in enterprises
- Strong analytical skills; ability to translate ambiguity into clear narratives, stories, and teachings that prompt CFO action
- Demonstrated executive presence; ability to establish credibility with executives and other stakeholders quickly
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs
- Excellence in research and writing
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
- Proficiency analyzing and synthesizing data; ability to apply patterns and frameworks and defend conclusions to address client challenges
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area, including market interplay
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural, global environment
- Ability to learn quickly and navigate highly matrixed environments
- Ability to represent the organization’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: 172,000 USD - 202,500 USD
- Actual pay may vary within the range or above/below based on factors including education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location
- Participation in either:
- an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or
- a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan
