Responsibilities

Solution Sales Accounting

  • Own the accounting and financial tracking for Americas Solution Sales transactions, primarily including hardware paired with installation, maintenance, warranty, and other service obligations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to solution sales.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations and perform variance analysis related to solution sales revenue.
  • Track recognition timing differences between point-in-time (hardware) and over-time (services) elements, including related deferred revenue and contract asset/liability balances.

Reporting & Controls

  • Prepare management reporting on solution sales performance, revenue trends, and key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls (SOX) and support internal/external audit requests related to solution sales and revenue recognition.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of revenue accounting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with analysis of contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606, including identification of distinct performance obligations (hardware delivery vs. service performance) and standalone selling price (SSP) allocation.
  • Partner with sales, deal desk, and legal teams to review contract terms and provide accounting guidance on new or complex deal structures, including extended warranties, installation services, and multi-year service agreements bundled with hardware.

SAP RAR Implementation Support

  • Serve as a finance subject matter expert supporting the design, testing, and rollout of SAP RAR for the Americas region.
  • Map current revenue recognition processes for hardware-plus-services arrangements to SAP RAR functionality, identify gaps, and recommend solutions.
  • Support data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and reconciliation between legacy processes and SAP RAR outputs.
  • Document new processes and controls resulting from the RAR implementation; assist with training for finance and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with IT, corporate accounting, and external consultants/auditors throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), ideally with multiple-element/bundled arrangements.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage complex contract structures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and other data analysis tools; comfort working with large data sets.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn SAP RAR functionality on the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Experience with SAP (any module: FI, SD, or RAR); direct SAP RAR exposure a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or hardware/equipment company with a services attach model.
  • Prior involvement in an ERP or revenue recognition system implementation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation range: $90,000 to $125,000, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.
