Staff Accountant _ AI Experience

Overview

This role is a directly mentored position, ideal for an early career accountant.

The primary objective is to learn to oversee enterprise accounting and provide financial information about client company activities that helps clients and their shareholders make economic decisions. The position is proactive and solution oriented, with depth of experience in fast-paced startup accounting.

Responsibilities

• Carry a client load with primary responsibility and ownership for engagement-level relationships.
• Assist with overseeing accounting department activities for clients, including accurate and timely dissemination of internal and monthly external financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve client compliance schedules.
• Review and oversee the client onboarding process to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Review and approve client accounting policies and procedures, including:
  • Accounting/ERP system selection and implementation
  • Cash flow setup
  • Capitalization policy
  • Prepaid expense policy
  • New initiatives
• Create and nurture partnerships across functional roles within the organization, including the OneShore team located in India.
• Manage finance relationships with vendors, banks, corporate credit cards, and merchant processors.
• Oversee the tax return process and facilitate requests from the tax team.
• Perform audit-related activities if required, including managing the audit process and facilitating requests from the audit firm.

Requirements

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–5 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to be a trusted advisor to clients.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently from a remote work environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• SaaS experience.

Final base salary compensation is determined based on factors including skill set, years of experience, and geographic location. Pay equity is considered, including internal equity of current team members as part of any final offer.
