Staff Financial Accountant

Overview

The Shared Services organization oversees the management and reporting of financial data across business units. This staff-level Financial Accountant role supports the preparation, examination, and analysis of financial accounts, records, and obligations, including compiling financial statements, reviewing data, and ensuring financial compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze financial accounts, records, and other financial obligations
• Compile financial statements and review financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Execute financial procedures including:
  • Month-end and year-end closings
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Tax returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • General ledger reviews
• Ensure financial compliance through ongoing review and support of reporting requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the accounting field
• Experience with various software applications, including automated accounting systems, general ledger tools, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects at once

Education / Training

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively more responsible accounting experience in general accounting or finance
• One (1) year of public accounting experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion
• Previous experience in areas within audit, internal controls, and six sigma
• MBA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent

Additional Position Requirements

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• May require flexibility in work schedule to meet operational needs

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation range: $58,697.60 - $87,942.40
• Actual salary offers will be based on relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
