Strategy & Business Analytics

Overview

This role leads Strategy & Business Analytics and builds/operates the analytic tools and dashboards used to manage the business. You will connect data from business development, programs, product, engineering, and finance into integrated dashboards and analyses, interpret results, and brief leadership on implications for strategy, KPIs, and business trajectory.

Responsibilities

Data and Tools

• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytic tools using tools that may include Power BI, the CRM, customer data models, financial forecasts, and related platforms
• Connect data across CRM, contracts, finance, and program systems into consistent, reliable views to create a single source of truth
• Automate recurring reporting and data workflows using low-code and AI-assisted tools
• Maintain data quality and proper handling of sensitive and controlled information

Business Analysis

• Translate open-ended leadership questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations
• Analyze pipeline health, win rates, capture investment, and revenue forecasts
• Model program performance, resource allocation, and operational trade-offs
• Diagnose performance gaps and process breakdowns and recommend corrective actions to functional leads

Leadership Reporting

• Track performance against metrics and goals set by leadership
• Produce analytic content for recurring business reviews, board materials, and annual planning
• Brief leadership on trends, risks, and performance shifts with clear interpretation
• Refine dashboards and reporting as leadership priorities evolve

Process and Systems

• Map core business processes with functional owners to inform tool and dashboard design
• Recommend improvements to business systems and tools as the organization scales
• Identify where additional data or technical support would add leverage

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy and operations, business operations, finance, or a comparable analytical operating role
• Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous business problems and deliver recommendations to senior executives
• Demonstrated experience building dashboards, models, or analytic tools used to run a business
• Proficiency in Power BI or a comparable BI platform, and advanced financial and operational modeling in Excel
• Comfort working with relational data and connecting multiple data sources; SQL familiarity a plus
• Experience building business applications with low-code platforms or AI-assisted development tools
• Strong executive communication skills (written and verbal)
• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Management consulting experience at a top-tier strategy firm
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or national security, including familiarity with DoD acquisition, contracting, and program structures
• Experience at a venture-backed company during a scale-up phase
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform or Fabric, ideally in a government cloud environment

• Target base salary: $130,000 - $165,000 annually (specific figure determined by candidate experience level)
