Tax Director

Overview

This role is based in the Cayman Islands, a leading global financial centre known for its high standard of living. Full relocation support and work permit sponsorship will be provided for the successful candidate.

The organization provides Audit, Tax, and Advisory services to a diverse client base, particularly in insurance, asset management, and international business sectors. The Tax team focuses on managing U.S. income tax reporting obligations across various industries including insurance, hedge funds, private equity funds, and private clients, while also addressing local tax laws and regulations such as Economic Substance, Pillar 2, VAT, and AEOI (FATCA/CRS).

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. tax compliance efforts within the Asset Management team, focusing on funds and partnerships
• Oversee complex tax filings, reporting, and risk management
• Provide guidance on evolving tax regulations and fund-level tax matters
• Contribute to policy development and support business strategy
• Help build technical capability across the team

Requirements

• CPA, EA, or LLM in Taxation
• 8 to 10+ years of U.S. tax experience, particularly with partnerships and fund structures
• Expertise in tax compliance, reporting, and risk management
• Familiarity with cross-border tax rules including FATCA, PFIC, and CFC regulations
• Ability to interpret complex information and advise senior stakeholders
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and integrity
• Proven leadership experience in developing teams and guiding strategy
