Overview
A professional services firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join their National Tax team. This is a remote position, though occasional presence at an office may be required for client work, team meetings, or training sessions. The role supports the broader tax practice and involves collaboration, thought leadership, and assisting clients in achieving their business goals.
Responsibilities
- Research tax issues and filing requirements affecting tax compliance.
- Review tax returns to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Research complex tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities.
- Draft tax technical memorandums.
- Identify opportunities to expand engagement scope by understanding current client needs and target client requirements.
- Participate actively in proposal development and lead responses to requests for proposals as directed.
- Provide regular performance feedback and deliver timely performance evaluations.
- Develop subordinates' technical and industry skills and encourage professional growth.
- Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a public accounting firm.
- Experience with partnership and corporate tax.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPA licensure.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
