Overview
The organization is seeking a professional to support lease accounting and related reporting activities. This role maintains lease accounting schedules and contributes to analyses, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit readiness. Remote work may be available for the right candidate in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
- Develop an end-to-end understanding of lease accounting, including stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls supporting internal and external reporting.
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries to support lease accounting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate/resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Support assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
- Complete special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
- Stay current on accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the FASB, SEC, and PCAOB, and provide analysis supporting the impact of changes.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university focusing in Accounting or Financial Accounting.
- Minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting.
