Accountant (Remote)

Overview

A growing SaaS company is seeking an Accounting Supervisor – Revenue & Billing to oversee revenue accounting and billing operations. This fully remote role involves leading a small billing team and ensuring accurate revenue recognition, deferred revenue management, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The position also emphasizes driving automation initiatives and improving accounting processes to support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the billing team
• Oversee invoicing, collections, and billing operations
• Manage revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting
• Perform bank reconciliations and support month-end close
• Process payroll and related accounting activities
• Ensure accounting accuracy and compliance
• Support automation and process improvement projects
• Collaborate with leadership on reporting and operational initiatives

Requirements

• Experience in SaaS accounting
• Knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606 preferred)
• Deferred revenue management expertise
• Month-end close experience
• Bank reconciliation expertise
• Team leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and data analysis)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Process improvement and automation mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Experience with Maxio or Chargify
• Payroll processing experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Power Query skills
• Multi-state payroll experience
