Experienced Associate (Australia Opportunity)

Overview

A 12-month contract opportunity is available for an External Audit professional based in South Africa or Zimbabwe to support a small to mid-tier Australian accounting firm. The engagement runs January to December 2027 and is fully remote.

This role offers international client exposure, experience working on Australian audit engagements, and collaboration with an audit team while working from your country of residence.

Responsibilities

• Perform external audit work, including auditing and documenting both basic and complex audit sections.
• Support audit engagements from start to finish as assigned, aligned to the required audit level based on individual experience.
• Use CaseWare to complete audit procedures and documentation.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of external audit experience, or 3 years combined with an international secondment following completion of articles.
• Completion of audit training or articles.
• Previous experience working within a public accounting or external audit firm.
• Recent external audit experience, with no more than one year away from audit.
• Practical experience using CaseWare (non-negotiable).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Legal right to work in your country of residence.

Preferred Qualifications

• DataSnipper experience (advantageous).

Internet & Work Readiness Requirements

If selected, you are expected to have access to the internet and ensure it is uninterrupted and always accessible. This should be, at minimum:

• Fibre connection
• Proven bandwidth of at least 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload
• Latency not exceeding 30ms
• Sustainable connectivity in the event of power interruptions

Schedule & Collaboration

• Generally, a 4-hour overlap with the host firm is expected.
• Overlap may vary depending on client requirements.
