Accountant

Overview

This role is within a healthcare organization that manages corporate facilities and multiple hospitals. The position focuses on accurate financial management and asset capitalization across various sites to ensure regulatory compliance and effective budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the plant ledger for all health system assets.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, and expense journal entries.
• Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, useful life analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly fiscal reports and supporting schedules related to capital projects.
• Analyze and report variances between actual and budgeted financial results.
• Serve as a liaison between finance and operations by coordinating financial data.
• Assist in the annual depreciation budget process.
• Coordinate the compilation and reconciliation of the annual budget.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and government audits.
• Make independent decisions on work methods, seeking guidance when needed.
• Provide administrative support as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel required; database knowledge preferred.

Compensation
