Accounting Analyst

Overview

The organization is hiring an Accounting Analyst to join the Incentives, Benefits & Reconciliation Accounting department.

This role supports employee and retiree benefit accounting, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing variance analysis. You will work with large datasets to identify variances and trends while helping ensure accurate and reliable financial information.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reporting, and analysis
• Identify and research trends and developments
• Lead special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests
• Collaborate with others to identify process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience is required
  • Equivalent work experience: 4 years of experience in related field
• 3 years of work experience in an accounting/financial position is required
  • Weighted equivalent years of relevant work experience: 1 year experience in public accounting = 2 years of applicable work experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
• Team-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple projects
• Strong analytical skills
• Proven priority-setting and project management skills
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, organization, and a proactive approach to learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with employee benefit accounting
• Exposure to AI-enabled tools

Location

• Fully remote position; however, occasional travel to Chattanooga for events will be requested.
• Preference will be given to candidates within a 50-mile radius of Chattanooga.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position.
