Accounting Consultant-Engagement Director

Overview

The organization is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support for clients (typically larger than $50M) on an interim and project basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries across accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles (e.g., Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager).
• Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
• Take an active and hands-on approach in executing client engagements.
• Travel as needed for engagements; more openness to travel can increase available opportunities.
• Select engagements in a way that supports both career and life balance.

Requirements

• 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting (10 years preferred).
• Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager equivalent is preferred (Big Four experience is appreciated).
• Bachelor’s degree required (combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree). A degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using a variety of accounting software.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
