Accounting Consultant-Engagement Director

Overview

The organization is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support for clients (typically larger than $50M) on an interim and project basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries across accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles (including Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager, and similar positions).
• Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
• Take a hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
• Travel as opportunities arise based on engagement needs.
• Select engagements to balance career goals and personal life.

Requirements

• 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting (10+ years preferred).
• Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager (equivalent) is preferred (Big Four experience is valued).
• Bachelor’s degree required (a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree). Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with a variety of accounting software.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation range for this position in Virginia: $50 – $90 (hourly range).
