Accounting Manager, Revenue (US - Remote)

Overview

This role involves managing revenue accounting operations within a high-energy Accounting and Finance team focused on the sports betting and gaming sector. The Manager of Revenue Accounting Operations is responsible for executing and scaling revenue accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial close, maintaining strong controls, and supporting audit readiness. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue, this position requires ownership of key revenue accounting activities in a complex, highly regulated, and data-intensive environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leaders across data, tax, treasury, legal, and financial planning and analysis, as well as various cross-functional business teams. Strong prioritization, collaboration, influencing skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment are essential. Effective communication with senior leaders and business functions is critical to facilitate information flow and support well-informed decision-making.

This position is eligible for remote work within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the monthly revenue close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Review and oversee revenue share calculations, account reconciliations, and accounts receivable matching results
• Develop processes for preparation and recording of required journal entries
• Manage data flows and system dependencies related to financial reporting
• Support cross-functional initiatives such as new product launches, cost of revenue analysis, and ad-hoc accounting requests
• Analyze financial results and variances, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain process documentation and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control readiness as the business scales
• Serve as the revenue accounting lead for stand-alone state audits and regulatory reviews
• Ensure revenue accounting practices comply with US GAAP
• Coordinate and manage external audit requests, including preparation of provided-by-client (PBC) documents, walkthroughs, and follow-ups
• Provide hands-on leadership to a team of revenue accounting professionals, balancing direct execution with coaching, review, and team development
• Be open to occasional travel to company offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance
• 5-7 years of experience in revenue accounting, accounting operations, or a related finance role
• Proven experience building cross-functional relationships and partnering with senior leaders
• Working knowledge of US GAAP related to revenue recognition and internal controls
• Ability to think proactively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong desire to develop and continuously improve processes
• Experience managing annual audits
• Excellent proficiency with spreadsheet programs and other financial analysis software
• Strong analytical skills and ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $87,500 - $125,000 USD (varies based on geographic location and compensation zone)
