Accounts Payable Accountant

Overview

This junior to intermediate Accounts Payable Accountant role supports the financial operations of a US-based vacation rental business. The position focuses on accurate, timely vendor payments, maintaining vendor relationships, and streamlining accounts payable processes within a remote, global team.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including invoices, bills, and expense reports
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and service providers
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
• Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Communicate and coordinate with US-based vendors and internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and workflows

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience supporting a US-based business (non-negotiable)
• Experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting (junior to intermediate level)
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Clear and professional communication skills, especially with international stakeholders
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup while staying collaborative

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
