Overview

This Accountant position focuses on managing client accounts in collaboration with multiple teams across the agency. The role extends beyond basic accounts receivable functions to include balance reconciliation and financial reporting. Candidates with experience in accounts receivable, strong client interaction skills, a collaborative mindset, and proficient technical abilities will be well-suited for this role.

This is a remote position; however, periodic travel and flexibility to accommodate meetings across different US time zones are expected.

Responsibilities

Accounting / Finance

  • Learn and accurately execute core client finance processes
  • Independently manage core client finance workflows
  • Manage client-level accounts receivable, including incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Drive financial processes and ensure compliance within unique client environments
  • Adapt, problem-solve, and prioritize based on individual client needs
  • Oversee client aging and cash collections in partnership with client-facing teams

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Prepare, review, and approve invoices in coordination with client service teams
  • Participate in or lead financial review meetings
  • Partner with client teams to ensure accurate and productive client financial management
  • Interface with agency executive leadership

Client Collaboration

  • Maintain a clear and transparent financial image to clients
  • Prepare and review external and internal client reporting and analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with at least 1 year of experience, or 2+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Proven accounts receivable experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and the Dynamics D365 project module is preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to follow directions and deliver with great attention to detail
  • Capable of making independent judgment calls guided by team and organizational core values
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Willingness to understand the broader business context
