Accounts Receivable Specialist

Overview

This role involves supporting customers in migrating their billing and accounts receivable (AR) processes into a new system without disrupting revenue workflows. The position requires a strong understanding of billing operations, AR, collections, and finance operations, with an emphasis on data accuracy, reconciliation, and process automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in transitioning from their current billing and AR setups to the new platform while maintaining revenue integrity.
• Translate real-world AR processes—including terms, invoicing, collections, disputes, and cash application—into clear system configurations.
• Manage cutover readiness by handling open invoices, credits, unapplied cash, and performing reconciliation checks before go-live.
• Validate migration outcomes such as invoice parity, AR aging accuracy, payment matching, and billing accuracy from the customer perspective.
• Collaborate with customer finance teams to quickly resolve exceptions like pricing mismatches, missing payments, and credit application issues.
• Develop repeatable playbooks and checklists to improve the speed and reliability of each migration.

Requirements

• 2 to 6 years of experience in Billing Operations, Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Finance Operations.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • AR aging and collections workflows
  • Dispute management
  • Reconciliation of invoices, payments, and credits
  • Cash application and managing unapplied cash (or equivalent experience)
• Strong proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), including performing reconciliation logic.
• Experience working with finance systems such as Stripe, Netsuite, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Chargebee, Zuora, Salesforce, or HubSpot.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to SaaS subscription or usage-based billing models.
• Experience supporting implementations or migrations, even in internal roles.
• Comfort with lightweight automation tools such as Sheets scripts, Zapier, SQL, or AI tools to streamline operations.
• Candidates with AR migration experience are encouraged to describe the most challenging aspect they encountered. Those without migration experience should explain what they would prioritize validating first.
