Overview

This is a critical, high-impact Corporate Development role. The position reports directly to the Chief Corporate Development Officer and leads diligence workstreams, drives integration planning and execution, and supports the evaluation of new opportunities. Regular collaboration with C-suite stakeholders and leaders across all business functions is expected. As an early member of the Corporate Development team, you will also help build the playbooks, tools, and processes that define how the organization approaches M&A and critical partnerships.

Diligence and integration are expected to make up roughly 60–70% of the role, with deal evaluation and execution making up the remaining 30–40%.

Responsibilities

Diligence

  • Plan and manage diligence processes end to end, including scoping workstreams, coordinating internal functional leads, and managing external advisors (banking, accounting, legal, and consulting firms).
  • Pressure-test diligence findings and translate them into clear implications for valuation, deal structure, and integration planning.
  • Manage data room reviews, track open issues, and prepare diligence summaries for senior leadership.

Integration planning and execution

  • Help run integration management offices (IMOs) for acquisitions, including workstream planning, governance cadence, and progress reporting.
  • Drive Day 1 readiness and post-merger integration across finance, HR, IT, product, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Build and maintain synergy tracking, measuring realized value against the deal model and flagging risks early.
  • Manage transition services agreements (TSAs) and other post-close commitments.

Deal evaluation and execution

  • Build and own financial models for potential acquisitions, including valuation, synergy analysis, and accretion/dilution.
  • Research and screen potential targets in support of the acquisition strategy.
  • Prepare investment materials and recommendations for the C-suite and Board.

Building the M&A function

  • Develop repeatable tools and templates, including diligence checklists, integration playbooks, and model templates, so transactions of different sizes can be run efficiently.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in strategy or operations consulting, investment banking, or transaction advisory, with direct involvement in M&A transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience running workstreams or projects with multiple stakeholders, ideally including diligence or post-merger integration.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to build a transaction model from scratch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including experience preparing materials for senior executives.
  • Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and drive work forward without direct authority over others.
  • Willingness to travel as needed during active diligence and integration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on the buy side or on integration projects (as opposed to only sell-side or strategy work).
  • Exposure to travel, travel technology, or B2B software.
  • Experience building templates, playbooks, or repeatable processes.
  • MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA), though not required.
