Overview
This role involves supporting the research and development of advanced quantitative risk models and practices within an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. The position requires collaboration across multiple functional areas including investment, market, and capital risk, with significant interaction expected with teams such as Inforce Projections, Valuation, Pricing, ALM, Investments, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Expand and enhance processes and models for efficient measurement and monitoring of investment, market, and capital risk
- Research and apply AI techniques to develop advanced analytical methods for risk insights, metrics, and attribution
- Deepen understanding of the organization's financials under various accounting and capital regimes, product mixes, and investment strategies
- Develop and improve processes supporting risk reporting aligned with the company’s Strategic Risk Appetite
- Provide accurate and thoughtful analysis to support strategic and tactical enterprise initiatives including portfolio trades, M&A, reinsurance, strategic partnerships, stress-testing, and quantitative model reviews
- Collaborate with Inforce Projections, Valuation, Pricing, ALM, Investments, and Finance teams on relevant projects
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative business discipline such as finance, economics, or accounting
- 2-4 years of experience in financial services; insurance experience preferred
- Understanding of asset-liability matching principles
- Knowledge of risk/return relationships of fixed income asset classes and the impact of economic indicators like inflation and interest rates
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to work with large and complex data sets
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statements, including reported financials and projection models
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate results effectively both orally and in writing
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis

- Targeted salary range: $70,000 to $100,000, varying based on location, skills, and experience
