Overview

The organization is seeking a Billing Specialist.

This role is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of invoices, revenue recognition, and adherence to accounting process and controls. The position requires strong customer support and analytical problem-solving skills. You will work closely with internal and external customers and other members of the Accounting team to answer invoicing questions and manage related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments to accurately prepare, adjust, and verify pre-bill documents before invoicing.
  • Enter data accurately into systems to modify projects.
  • Assist Accounting in applying proper revenue recognition, validating sales tax on invoices, and supporting other accounting controls.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet tight timelines.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with changing reporting needs.
  • Use analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to proactively and independently resolve complex issues, demonstrating technical aptitude.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal teams at all levels and with clients to accomplish objectives with confidence.
  • Maintain advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Use knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (desktop and network), network storage, and archival technologies.
  • Handle additional special projects as assigned.
  • Contribute as a team player and support value-added outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Billing position or an AA Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Billing and/or Project Accounting experience.
  • Experience in legal billing/professional services.
