Commercial Credit Analyst (Remote)

Overview

The organization is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst (Full Time Remote). This role provides detailed credit analysis and recommendations regarding the creditworthiness of new and existing commercial loan borrowers. You will help ensure proposed loans meet applicable policy guidelines to maintain portfolio quality, while maintaining complete records and files for all credit transactions, including correspondence and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate member business loan requests.
• Assess business financial needs and recommend appropriate loan packages of financial products.
• Analyze and interpret financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, statement spreads, and other financial information to determine prospective borrower feasibility and provide recommendations for further consideration.
• Prepare detailed analysis of personal and business assets for collateral valuation and determine total loan-to-value calculations within policy guidelines.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses of underlying credit requests through balance sheet and income statement analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow analysis.
• Create credit memorandums, ensuring data accuracy, quality control, and integrity.
• Assist clients in establishing and negotiating credit terms, including costs, repayment method, and collateral requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred.
• Three years’ experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting simple and complex financial data and preparing credit memorandums required.
• Proficiency in credit spreading analysis software, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of small business loan policy; federal banking regulations; credit granting criteria; interest rates and how they are computed; and required documentation for each type of loan.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent loan interviewing skills and techniques required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within established service standards.
• Formal credit training helpful but not required.
