Congress Project Accountant

Overview

This role supports Life Sciences congress programs in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where accuracy, compliance, and deadlines are critical. You will partner with project teams to manage reconciliations, final billings, and Transfer of Value reporting to help keep complex programs running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Manage reconciliations, billing, and accounting activities with strong accuracy in a structured, deadline-driven environment
• Work with multiple foreign currencies and maintain financial records that are organized, complete, and audit-ready
• Support compliance-focused reporting, including Transfer of Value requirements for the US and European Union under EFPIA
• Collaborate across planning, account, purchasing, and management teams to keep congress financials on track
• Use Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to handle detailed data and identify issues early

Requirements

• Strong accuracy managing reconciliations, billing, and accounting activities in a structured, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work with multiple foreign currencies while keeping financial records organized, complete, and audit-ready
• Experience supporting compliance-focused reporting, including Transfer of Value requirements for the US and European Union under EFPIA
• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for detailed data work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in meetings, events, or congress support, especially within Life Sciences or other highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with Cvent and entering final budgets, savings, and reconciliation-related data
• A college degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience preparing year-end accrual files and VAT reclaim documentation
• Background in travel or event-related financial operations
