Controller

Overview

A fully remote Controller position is available within a growing Client Accounting Services (CAS) team. This role involves leading and managing critical aspects of client engagements across various industries. It offers direct client interaction, exposure to diverse sectors, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with significant growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Develop work plans, project timelines, and key milestones
• Perform and review core client finance and accounting operations, including account reconciliations, payroll, month-end close procedures, and preparation of financial statements
• Provide Outsourced Controller services
• Supervise a fully remote accounting staff, including training as needed
• Communicate frequently and effectively with client contacts
• Identify client issues or deficiencies and recommend solutions
• Manage day-to-day oversight of client engagements and internal teams
• Onboard new clients
• Review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze client financial information and general ledger details for completeness, accuracy, and proper classification
• Prepare financial statements and key management reports for reporting purposes

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a CAS practice within a CPA firm, accounting department of private industry, or a combination thereof
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA license preferred
• Proven experience managing projects and people in remote or hybrid environments
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or responsiveness
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating financial information for non-financial stakeholders
• Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable, with the ability to manage workload effectively in a remote setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving real estate, family office, or high-net-worth clients

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual base salary range: $130,000 - $150,000
• Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skill level
