Controller

Overview

This role involves overseeing Finance and Accounting operations to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information. The Controller provides financial oversight, analysis, and decision support to leadership and coordinates with an external accounting partner that performs day-to-day accounting activities.

Location: Remote, USA

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret financial statements prepared by an external accounting firm; identify significant variances, anomalies, or areas requiring further investigation.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including taxes and compliance.
• Provide data and analysis for sound decision-making.
• Track business performance.
• Conduct cost/benefit analyses.
• Monitor cash balances and cash flow and coordinate routine cash management activities.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as required (customers, brokers, investors, partners, etc.).
• Serve as the primary internal point of contact for external accounting, tax, banking, and other financial service providers; monitor deliverables, timelines, and quality of work.
• Provide information to support key internal processes such as pricing, RFP responses, sales tax, budget development and tracking, and M&A support.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Ability to succinctly summarize and communicate complex financial data and analyses to convey the broader strategic picture.
• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or other related field.
• CPA preferred.
