Responsibilities
- Record and code daily transactions, keeping the general ledger and chart of accounts current
- Enter and process vendor bills and payments, and manage card spend and expense reports
- Run procure-to-pay day to day, including vendor setup, purchase requests and POs, bill entry and matching, and vendor payments
- Prepare and book journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and payroll entries
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Own the month-end close process personally, from cutoff through final entries
- Maintain organized vendor records, supporting documentation, and close files
- Set the close calendar and deliver accurate financial statements on schedule

- Design and maintain accounting processes and internal controls that scale
- Utilize finance systems (QuickBooks and Ramp) and help evaluate new tools as needs grow
- Support the CFO with audit and tax readiness, budgeting and forecasting inputs, and ad hoc analysis
Requirements
- 5–8 years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth company
- Strong technical accounting foundation (US GAAP, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation)
- Recent, current hands-on experience personally booking entries, running AP/AR, performing reconciliations, and closing the books (not only reviewing others’ work)
- Comfort performing bookkeeping-level work yourself as part of owning the books
- Solid experience with modern, cloud-based finance systems
- Clear communication with colleagues across teams and time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting experience
