Overview
This role involves supporting all financial activities including annual budget planning, monitoring, and reporting to ensure senior management receives timely and accurate financial information for sound business decisions. The position is remote with a preference for candidates in Central or East Coast time zones. Experience within Managed Care and General Ledger knowledge is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting duties such as account reconciliations, account analysis, ratio analysis, and accrual and prepaid calculations.
- Review all expenditures, including purchase orders, for budget adherence and accuracy, providing direction and support to departmental business owners as needed.
- Maintain and distribute well-formatted financial reports that clearly communicate results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan.
- Support all new business planning and forecasting activities.
- Track and analyze costs against budget and forecast, providing clear written explanations.
- Perform detailed analysis on large amounts of data/information and summarize findings in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and understand trends, ensuring budget targets and assumptions are achieved.
- Produce and distribute ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred majors include Accounting, Finance, or Business-related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and/or cost and financial modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
- Strong analytical mindset and detail-oriented.
- Experience with journal entries, monthly close processes, account reconciliations, and general accounting concepts including prepaids and accruals.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong system and database skills.
