Overview
This role joins the Credit Risk team, which uses analytics tools to develop strategies that govern automated decisions in an online marketplace. As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will apply advanced analytical skills to build verification and fraud strategies using models and data to support credit decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop credit and fraud strategies to improve credit performance using data, machine learning models, and advanced analytics tools to optimize risk decisions
- Apply innovative thinking to make recommendations and solve problems
- Design A/B tests and understand risk and customer experience trade-offs
- Continue to innovate by testing new data, analytics approaches, and models
- Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and other teams to implement credit and fraud prevention strategies, and test and validate pre- and post-performance
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management, product, and operations
- Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis
- Identify trends and conduct root-cause analysis to isolate key performance drivers
- Communicate findings and recommendations to Risk Management and broader team stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics
- 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s (or less with a Master’s) managing credit risk and/or fraud and/or data science in the consumer lending industry; consumer personal loan/credit card experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with DBT and Looker is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and succinctly to team members and Senior Management
- Knowledge and experience of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools are required
- Curiosity, including the ability to ask questions, probe into reasons, and challenge the status quo
- Strong ownership and motivation to drive business results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Ability to work as a self-starter and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Consideration for candidates without financial services experience, provided they have a strong technology background and analytical skills
Compensation & Benefits
- $102,000 - $140,000 a year
- Plus bonus and generous benefits
- Salary determination considers location, experience, and other job-related factors
Location
Role supports work from San Francisco or Phoenix offices, or as a fully remote team member.
Interview Process
