Overview

This senior leadership role within the organization’s Cash Management function is responsible for driving cash generation, billing production, and working capital performance across the Energy Business Area’s high-volume invoicing operations. The position leads an approximately 40-person team in a high-transaction, transaction-heavy environment involving utility engineering services and time-and-materials (T&M) or Fixed Fee projects.

The role focuses on establishing KPI-driven management, improving billing throughput and accuracy, and building a forward-looking strategy that embeds automation and AI across the invoicing process to reduce manual touchpoints, accelerate cycle times, and improve quality and consistency in large-scale invoice production.

This position also contributes to enterprise-level planning by developing a conceptual and operational understanding of how Cash Management and performing groups work together to optimize and maintain cash generation and liquidity.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with line and functional organizations to proactively improve existing processes while achieving established service levels and quarterly cash targets, with an emphasis on growing high-performing individuals through a career path that supports current and future placement.
  • Own and report on a KPI-driven management framework for a high-volume invoicing operation, including metrics such as invoice throughput, cycle time, aging, error/rework rates, Day to invoice (DTI), and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) to drive performance, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute a forward-looking strategy leveraging AI and automation to transform the invoicing process—from invoice generation and validation through exception handling and collections support.
  • Lead a highly transactional, volume-based business supporting utility engineering services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at scale for high volumes of T&M or Fixed Fee projects.
  • Create integration plans and/or directly manage tasking that comes into Cash Management as a result of process enhancements or organizational change.
  • Lead Cash Management’s role in transformational opportunities by reviewing processes and workflows for continuous improvement across all teams within Cash Management; backfill onsite management for a large service organization as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management, with an emphasis on cash management support.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high volumes of invoices within a production or shared-services billing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and processes through KPIs, using metrics to drive decisions, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience driving automation and/or AI adoption within invoicing, billing, or broader finance operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet on-time deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated competencies in change management facilitation and team collaboration.
  • Leadership experience emphasizing talent development and retention.
  • Results-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to influence beyond one’s immediate span of control.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint.

Preferred Qualifications
