Equity Research Specialist | Upto $200/hr

Overview

A remote contract opportunity is available for a Retail Investment Research Specialist focusing on individual investors. This role involves conducting research on stocks, sectors, and market trends, formulating investment theses, and evaluating AI-generated insights to support investment decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Research stocks, sectors, and market trends using publicly available and professional tools such as TradingView and financial news sources.
• Develop and clearly articulate investment theses, including entry and exit strategies, catalysts, and associated risks.
• Analyze price movements and market events to differentiate between noise and meaningful signals.
• Evaluate AI-generated insights for clarity, usefulness, and accuracy.
• Provide feedback on whether AI outputs enhance decision confidence or cause confusion.
• Simulate real-world investor workflows, including idea discovery, validation, and portfolio monitoring.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Active participation in public markets such as equities, ETFs, or similar instruments.
• Proven habit of independently researching and tracking investments.
• Ability to explain stock price movements and assess their significance.
• Strong intuition for market sentiment, narratives, and behavioral patterns.
• Comfortable using platforms like Reddit, X (Twitter), Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, TradingView, or similar.
• Clear written communication skills with the ability to express investment reasoning effectively.

Preferred

• Experience with advanced financial tools such as Bloomberg or Capital IQ.
• Familiarity with technical analysis, financial statements, or macroeconomic indicators.
• Prior experience documenting trades, investment theses, or outcomes.

Compensation & Commitment

• Contract position
• Compensation: $105–$200 per hour
• Commitment: 10–20 hours per week
