Financial Analyst

Overview

This role involves producing reliable financial analysis that supports planning and informed decision-making. The position is remote for candidates located in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.

Forecasting involves uncertainty—ensure assumptions are visible and supported, and be comfortable presenting alternative scenarios when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Requirements

• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
