Financial Analyst

Overview

This role is for a Financial Analyst (full-time), fully remote from anywhere in the United States.

After a client’s ledger is closed for the month, you convert it into a complete report pack, including an income statement, balance sheet, comparatives, and commentary that explains what changed.

Responsibilities

• Pull the trial balance after close and map it to the client’s report layout
• Prepare month and year-to-date comparatives against the prior year and the budget
• Investigate larger variances and coordinate with the bookkeeper to identify causes
• Draft plain-language commentary for the business owner describing what changed
• Tie every figure in the report pack back to a supporting schedule
• Keep the report template consistent from month to month

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics, or equivalent work experience
• 1 year or more in financial reporting, FP&A, or accounting (including internships)
• Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and linked workbooks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite
• Experience writing variance commentary
