Overview
This Financial Analyst role supports planning and informed decision-making through reliable financial analysis. You will maintain reports, compare actual results with expectations, and communicate key performance drivers to stakeholders.
You will work across financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions, ensuring calculations are checked, assumptions are clearly stated, and conclusions are presented in a decision-supportive way.
Forecasting involves uncertainty—assumptions should be visible rather than hidden in calculations. You should be comfortable presenting alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision, particularly when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

- Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
- Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and items requiring follow-up.
- Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so analysis remains understandable and reusable.
- Perform variance analysis that goes beyond stating variances, and (where information allows) identify operational or financial drivers behind movements and determine whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
Qualifications
- Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
- Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
- Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
- Ability to identify what changed, understand the assumptions behind results, and communicate implications without overstating what the information can prove.
