Overview

This Financial Analyst role supports dependable financial analysis to inform planning and decision-making. You will maintain reports, compare actual results with expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers.

Assignments may include updating a forecast, reviewing actual results against a budget, preparing management reports, and testing how changes in assumptions affect expected outcomes. Financial models and schedules must remain understandable after the immediate task is complete through clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Go beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower by identifying operational or financial drivers behind movement and explaining whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Ability to organize work and manage self-directed responsibilities in a remote setting, including responding to reasonable requests for updates and using shared digital tools so responsibilities and handoffs remain clear.
