Overview

This entry-level Financial Analyst role supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions about revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. The position involves both routine financial cycles and forward-looking analysis, including scenario comparisons, variance investigation, and connecting financial results to the operating activity behind them.

The work is designed so that financial models and schedules remain understandable after completion through clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Responsibilities

  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind financial changes.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Clear written communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with variance analysis beyond noting whether a number is higher or lower, including identifying operational or financial drivers and assessing whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
  • Ability to identify what changed, understand underlying assumptions, and communicate implications without overstating what the information can prove.
