Financial Analyst

Overview

This Financial Analyst role supports planning and informed decision-making through reliable financial analysis and clear communication of performance drivers.

Responsibilities include maintaining reports, comparing actual results to expectations, and ensuring financial models and schedules remain understandable and auditable after the immediate task is complete.

Responsibilities

• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, explaining meaningful variances.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Ensure forecasting assumptions are visible rather than hidden in calculations.
• Present alternative scenarios when needed to avoid a false sense of precision, especially when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Requirements

• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind financial changes.
• Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Ability to identify what changed, understand the assumptions behind results, and communicate implications without overstating what the information can prove.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $71,000–$79,000 per year
