Salary: $65,000-$73,000 per year

The position combines spreadsheet-based modeling with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter, including whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods to keep work understandable and reusable.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Conduct variance analysis that goes beyond whether a number is higher or lower, when information allows:
    • Identify operational or financial drivers behind movement.
    • Verify underlying information.
    • Determine which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement.
    • Provide appropriate context around what changed and the implications.
  • Present alternative scenarios when uncertainty exists, ensuring assumptions are visible rather than hidden inside calculations.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Clear written communication skills, with the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
