Overview
This role involves working as a Financial Analyst in a remote, full-time position based in the United States. The salary range is $66,000–$74,000 per year.
You will support stakeholders by combining spreadsheet-based analysis with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends—helping explain both what changed and why it may matter.
A key aspect of the job is moving between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions within the same week. Across all work, the emphasis is on ensuring calculations are checked, assumptions are clearly stated, and conclusions are communicated in a decision-supportive way.
Responsibilities
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
Requirements
- Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
- Clear written communication skills, with the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Ability to work with uncertainty in forecasting by keeping assumptions visible and presenting alternative scenarios when a single estimate may create a false sense of precision.
- Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding overstating uncertain results as more precise than they are.
- Dependable communication and self-management to organize work, respond to reasonable requests for updates, and use shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.
