Overview

This role supports stakeholders with spreadsheet-based financial analysis, including review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You’ll help explain what changed, why it changed, and how it may matter for decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Provide analysis that goes beyond stating variance amounts by identifying potential operational or financial drivers when the information allows, and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to make forecasting assumptions visible (not hidden inside calculations) and present alternative scenarios when appropriate.
  • Because the position is remote, dependable communication and self-management are required, including organizing work, responding to reasonable update requests, and using shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.
