Overview
A leading commerce network platform is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join their finance team. The platform supports over 40,000 companies globally, facilitating commerce across hundreds of channels with an annual gross merchandise volume exceeding $50 billion. This role involves supporting the organization’s financial performance through data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various business partners.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasting, planning, and long-term strategic planning
- Support financial activities including headcount planning, expense reporting, cost control, and variance analysis
- Track and analyze expenditures across payroll, contractors, infrastructure, software, travel & entertainment, and other non-payroll costs
- Prepare detailed monthly variance analyses and reports for executive leadership, highlighting key drivers behind financial performance deviations
- Collaborate with departments such as Accounting, Procurement, IT, and Marketing to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with corporate objectives
- Assist in maintaining financial systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or accounting
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and basic modeling
- Experience with PowerPoint for preparing presentations and reports
- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite or similar ERP platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience working within a SaaS environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate clearly with non-finance partners
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Effective planning and time management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- MBA degree
- Experience with Pigment and Salesforce
- Experience supporting C-suite level stakeholders
- Understanding of general accounting principles, month-end close processes, and GL responsibilities
- Comfort with AI tools such as chat-based assistants and reporting copilots
