Overview
This Financial Analyst role supports dependable financial analysis to inform planning and decision-making. You will maintain reporting, compare actual results to expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers.
A typical analysis starts with identifying variances between planned and actual performance. You will determine which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement, verify underlying information, and communicate results with appropriate context.
Responsibilities
- Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
- Review source information and validate calculations before distributing financial analysis for reliance.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
- Provide variance analysis that goes beyond stating whether numbers are higher or lower; where the information allows, identify operational or financial drivers and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
Requirements
- Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
- Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
- Ability to identify what changed, understand the assumptions behind results, and communicate implications without overstating what the information can prove.
