Overview
This role involves supporting strategic planning and operational decision-making by performing or overseeing complex financial analysis and business modeling. The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and collaborate closely with senior leadership across Finance, Accounting, Marketing, R&D, and Commercialization teams to drive profitable growth.
Location
The organization is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees working remotely across the US. For those near Austin, there is an option for office-based or hybrid work arrangements. Please note, candidates located in California or Massachusetts are not eligible for hire at this time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial performance analyses and presentations for executives and the Board
- Build and maintain financial models to support financial planning, reporting, and provide insights to leadership
- Monitor daily and monthly financial performance against goals, identifying trends, variances, and risks to support data-driven decision-making
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, including rolling forecasts and long-term financial planning
- Support functional teams in tracking headcount and operating expenses against budgets and forecasts; monitor and help optimize vendor expenses
- Identify, lead, and execute opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize financial systems and reporting processes to optimize efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Consulting, or a related analytical field
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with demonstrated rigor
- Experience with enterprise planning systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Netsuite) and BI tools (Looker and/or SQL) preferred
- Experience in a high-growth environment such as a startup or fast-scaling business; insurance or fintech experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and management levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities, maintaining attention to detail and quality
- Proven ability to recognize and implement process improvements and build scalable solutions
- Highly motivated, self-starter, independent thinker, and team player
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and interview insights
