Overview

This full-time, entry-level Financial Analyst role is remote and located in the United States. The position focuses on producing reliable financial analysis to support planning and informed decision-making.

You will maintain reporting, compare actual results with expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers. Forecasting often involves uncertainty, so assumptions must be made visible, and alternative scenarios may be presented when a single estimate could imply false precision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions affect expected results.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Ensure financial models and schedules remain understandable after task completion by using clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind financial changes.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Ability to identify what changed, understand the assumptions behind outcomes, and communicate implications without overstating what the information proves.
