Financial Analyst

Overview

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. You’ll work with financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions, ensuring calculations are checked, assumptions are clear, and conclusions are presented in a way that supports decisions.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.
• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.

Requirements

• Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Ability to keep forecast assumptions visible (not hidden inside calculations) and present alternative scenarios when uncertainty could create a false sense of precision.
• Because the position is remote: dependable communication and self-management; ability to organize work, respond to reasonable update requests, and use shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $66,000-$74,000 per year
