Overview

This role involves supporting financial planning and analysis through careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Assignments may include updating forecasts, reviewing actual results against budget, preparing management reports, and testing how changes in assumptions affect expected outcomes. You will organize inputs, check calculations, and summarize the most meaningful drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Support improvements to recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Maintain financial models and schedules that remain understandable after the immediate task is complete by using clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Comfort learning reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent—investigate the source, document the limitation, and avoid presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Experience working with financial statements.
