Financial Analyst

Overview

This entry-level Financial Analyst role supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions related to revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. Work includes analyzing plan versus actual results, identifying drivers of changes, verifying underlying information, and communicating findings with appropriate context.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; explain meaningful variances.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to illustrate how changing assumptions may affect expected results.

Qualifications

• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Clear written communication skills; ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Forecasting comfort: keep assumptions visible rather than hidden inside calculations; present alternative scenarios rather than a single estimate when outcomes depend on variables that may change.
