Financial Analyst

Overview

This role is for a Financial Analyst supporting routine reporting and forward-looking financial analysis. Work will include reviewing assumptions, investigating variances, and connecting financial results to the operating activity behind them.

• Salary: $71,000-$79,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Ensure financial models and schedules remain understandable after the immediate task is complete by using clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Requirements

• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently in a remote full-time role, with steady follow-through and organized communication, including asking timely questions when clarification is needed.
